Here are some photos of the replica Huey we built from the film Apocalypse Now. I posted some fabrication photos of this a few weeks back, but here are the final installation photos. Enjoy, any questions, just ask!

Wow, Nate!  Is that your basement?  That's pretty freakin' cool!  No way in heck my wife would go for something like that.  That actually would look cool in a "man cave!"  Really, really nice work!

Guys,

It has been great helping Nate with this project.  His attention to detail made it a lot of fun.  I'm glad it turned out so well.  Now if I could just get a free trip to Hawaii to see it!

Nate that is awesome and now that you have created one, you ought to come up here and market that display to the Aviator's Landing here at Ft. Rucker. They might want something like that in their lounge..

Again, great work.

Haha nope not in my basement...its part of Jimmy Buffett's at the Beachcomber, a new restaurant and bar that just opening up in Waikiki, Hawaii.  Its made mostly from FRP and all the other parts have been fabricated from metal and other materials.  The rotorhead was made completely from scratch using scrap aluminum parts.  The blades are made from FRP.  The skid is made from aluminum tubing.  Glass panels were vacuuformed.  Other materials were either bought or made in house.  We created a data plate that you can see thru the chin bubble, and I put Ray's name on there since he helped out so much with it.

Im sure we would gladly do another if the money was right!  At least next time around we could probably produce it a lot faster! thanks for all the comments!
