As I sit here and procrastinate, trying not to write my next paper that's due in 18 hours, I'm contemplating the evolution of US Army attack helicopters. Actually, that's what I'm writing the paper on, but I'm stuck more on the machines themselves than the doctrines employed over the past 40 years.
But what really has got me intrigued is the idea of an H-34 in 1/35th scale kitted out as one of the Howze Board attack helicopter testbeds....
2 .50 cals, 4 .30 cals and a ton of 3.5" rockets all mounted between the fuselage and the main gear. Supposedly they worked well enough for the Howze Board to recommend the Army proceed with an attack helicopter design in 1962, so I guess they did something right! That would be one impressive model, nonetheless.
Anyone know if there are any decent sized kits available of the H-34?
ugh... back to writing....
