I just picked this kit up for a future build.  Was wondering if anyone has put this one together and what their experience was, good or bad.  Did a forum search but didn't see anything on this kit.  Thanks.

It is a pretty well detailed, easy to assemble kit.  Which version do you have?  The original ODS one w/the sand/brown camo option, or the new NTS (Night Targeting System) build?  The original makes an early '90s W from the box.  The NTS version is supposed to build into one from about '03 in A'stan.  However, lots of pieces for the NTS are missing in Academy's upgrade.

Verlinden makes a pretty nice PE and resin upgrade set for the original version.  Cobra Company makes a really good resin NTS conversion as well that is pretty complete.

Eduard makes interior and exterior PE sets for it as well.

For decals, Two Bobs Aviation Graphics made, now out of production, a really nice set called Whiskeys in the Mix that had about 12 options on it from ODS up through about '03 in A'stan.  The decals in the new NTS version are copies of one of the options off the Two Bobs sheet.  Fireball Modelworks has a decal set that provides markings for the ordinance that is very nice too.

Here is a detailed build review from AeroScale.

I have the new NTS model.  This will be my first helo and it looks like a fun build.

Thanks for the info!  Will have to check out the PE sets that are available.

I built up one of the earlier version kits some time back, it was a straight-forward build and it came out pretty well.  I dont recall any trouble spots to warn you about, it was just a good build.
