Getting ready to airbrush indoors
Posted by Helo H-34 on Friday, March 6, 2009 3:34 PM

Hi everyone ,

I posted these pic's in the Airbrushing section , I thought I might share them here with my fellow Helicopter enthuisiast.

I recently purchased a Sparmax indoor spray booth . I had been airbrushing up in the garage these past few years but with my workbench being upstairs in the house , it was quite frustrating going up and down the stairs and then outside and up and back to the garage many times daily .

I was able to wrangle some extra work space from another room at the back of the house , so I built a bench for the spray booth to sit on and I have a nice upholstery chair to sit on .

I also added some extra shelving over the door and around the walls to store some of my unbuilt kit collection . Even though this room is downstairs from my main work area , at least everything is inside now .

One of the advantage's about my new indoor airbrushing area is there's a TV , video and fridge close by and and electric treadmill , although I wont be putting in too many miles between coats of paint !

Everything is set-up to go , hopfully I'll attempt my first indoor airbrushing some time later in the week , I'm quite excited .

                                     Kind regards John

Awesome spray room! Nice job with the mounting- like the shelving- but my favorite part is the fridge Burger [BG] haha

Hope to see some of your airbrushing later in the week!

That is one heck of a setup John. I'm nowhere as organized as you are.

Thank's Guy's .

My mum is still in hospital recovering from a broken pelvis after a fall , 4 weeks ago .

Her recovery and rehabilitation is taking a little longer than we expected ; having parkinsons disease obvisiously makes thing's a lot more difficult .

As mums main carer , I thought it would a good opportunity to move from the garage to inside the house for airbrushing . I told mum this after I put up all the shelving and organized the spray booth area ; explaining that I wasn't doing it for me but it was for her Wink [;)]

Mum's reply was raised eyebrows and the words "OH REALLY" !!!

What a wonderful son , was my reply Big Smile [:D]

Anyway the family is hoping mum will be home sometime next week , I have quite a few kits masked and ready to mask and once everything gets back to a normal routine , I'll be back into the swing .

                                   Kind regards John

Hope your Mum recovers well and soon.

BTW, just so you know I was not being humble about being disorganized, here are pictures of my hobby room and mess. It may appear disorganized but I know where everything is. My wife doesn't even come in my room. Whistling [:-^]

Here is my work area and research area.

And here is my low text paint area.

Cheers

Thank you for the kind thoughts and words Charlie .

I must confess as a compulsive neat freak , I almost couldn't resist getting into your work space and just tidying perhaps a couple of things to start with . The problem is once I start , it wouldn't be to long before the tape measure came out and I would measuring up for shelves and the like Wink [;)].

Then the power tools come out and lots of sawing and drilling to follow and to finish up with the super suction vaccume cleaner .

Everyone at home say's I just can't put one shelf up , it has to be a major project !!!!!!!

I can't help it , thanks for sharing the pic's of your work space .

                       Kind regards John .

Actually, I built that room and did all the custom trim work in it with a friend of mine. It was suppose to be a sun room for the wife, but I took it over when I finished and the rest is history. I do clean it up between builds that is why I never have more than one build at a time going on. I would end up mixing parts.Laugh [(-D]

- I was going to say- that's a lot of window!

I bet you get some great lighting in there for photography and just when it comes to painting and detail work. That mess is more my style, no offense to your's John, I'd have to agree- only between builds does my room look that nice. I'm sure it's nice to have everything in its place though.
