The interior, I have left some items (like the seats out until later in construction to aviod breakage), I did add the tail rotor pedals

Surgery time

Put on CC's doghouse, putty and sand. I've gotten a little past that, but have not taken any photo's yet

So then is the main kit the AH-1Z from Italeri, or is there an AH-1W kit made by Italeri as well? If this is the AH-1Z kit, I will have questions for you in a month or so

The Z was made using the already existing W by adding another sprue and some minor changes. It does not show a production Z, but the prototype made with a W

Thanks for your comments guy's, will post more photo's when I get them. Just have to decide which AM decal set I'm going to use

FYI, Floyd S.Werner Jr. (Werner's Wings) will be coming out with a 1/48 TOW missile rack very soon.
Although the Monogram missiles look OK (used them on my "W" too), I think Floyd's will probably be even better. I will be ordering a set for my next Italeri 1/48 "W".

Fuseluge about done, few minor things to do, will be leaving some of the smaller, easy to break items off for painting. Need to finish the pit and glue the canopy on and mask it. Still need to finish the main rotor and the Hellfire missiles

Kit comes with Desert Storm Era decals and there are some after-market decals(Two Bobs and Flying Leatherneck or MAW, I can't remember for sure) mainly OIF/OEF Era and DS Era. Most required Cobra Company update set. I have three sets, not sure which I will use

Finished the cockpit

Got the main rotor done. It should be noted that Italeri molded all thier Cobra's rotor blades to turn the wrong way. I simply turned them over. I may have lost some detail which could have been corrected, but after almost breaking off a blade, I decided to just leave it alone. Kit is OOP and with no replacement I didn't want to damage it more

She is looking Great Grandadjohn...want to see more! I never realized the whiskey blade tips had so much curve in them. She is going to be a very good looking medel when completed.
