"Guns A Go-Go" Reunion set

With the 1/35th Chinook series just around the corner, I thought I'd let everyone know that if you think you'd be interested in getting to mingle with the men who wore the Flying Skull, we have our 2004 Reunion scheduled for the 23, 24, 25, & 26th of July, at the Holiday Inn, Research Park, in Huntsville, Alabama. One day the entire group goes out on Redstone Arsenal to have pictures made by "Easy Money", and this year we're dedicating a Memorial Plaque at the Helicopter for the Crew of "Co$t of Living", who perished on 5 May 67 near Bong Son.

It would be an ideal research trip for anyone who's interested in building the ACH-47A that Panda's about to release, since you'll get to touch the sole remaining example of that big Gunship, and talk to the men who lived with her.

Here's a picture from this years Reunion

Thanks for allowing me to enter this announcement,

Troy,

Jim was in the midst of a vacation with his new wife, and he stopped in the evening before and hung out until we said goodnight, then they left the morning we went out to get our picture made.

I kidded with Jim that I was going to cut his image out of some other picture I got, and paste it in that one somewhere. There;s been a lot of people ask about where he was.Smile [:)] He missed the 2nd Reunion because it was during the time his 1st wife passed away, but will be at all succeding ones.

This is Judy & David Knight on the left, about to have dinner with Beverly & Jim Ketcham at the Hotel the evening before.

(Little story behind David Knight.... he was #2 Gunner on "Co$t of Living", and DEROS'd just 3 days before Co$t of Living" was lost up at Bong Son...... but didn't learn of the death of his buddies until the VHCMA Reunion in 1998, when he asked Ketcham if he'd ever heard anything from his fellow crewmates over the years. Sad [:(]........... David & Jim are two of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet.)

{{The media would have you believe that all Vietnam Vets turned out a few fries shy of a Happy Meal; David owns and operates a large Cattle Ranch down just south of Ft. Worth, and Jim is the main man at the Chinook Flight Simulator Complex at Ft. Rucker}}

Frank,

Would love to drop by but I'll be working my scheduled hitch offshore that week! The wife would kill me if I took a vacation to go to "another" Vietnam Vet Reunion. One a year is all she can take! Mainly because she doesn't see me for most of the time. Thanks for the invite maybe another year. Boy! A full set of Sharks Teeth would have looked cool on those birds!

Clear Left!

I agree with you Frank!

My cousins Husband was a Marine in Nam...saw plenty of ****** and did 15 years in the California State Highway Patrol after that....and is still doing good....now thats BALLS!

I also have a cousin in California who was in the Brown water opps in nam on PBR's...He is now running the family Electical shop.

In any case and in any war I think it depended on how well you were put together before you left home in the first place.

But with no doupt....Nam was hell...and was NO PICNIC!....WAR IS HELL!Dead [xx(]

It's easy for us younger or Non combat guys to romanticize war and combat....but We can NEVER wear the boots of those who were there.

GOD BLESS ALL OF OUR VETERANS!!
