1:35 Trump Mil Mi-4 Question
Posted by USArmyFAO on Sunday, April 5, 2009 3:56 AM
Was thinking about picking up this kit.  Has anyone built it?  Thought it might look nice next to my UH-1...  Thanks!

Cheers, Matt

I haven't built it, but I just got the Hobby Boss 1/72 Mi-4 that is supposed to be based off the larger kit and it looks really nice in the box, good detail for 1/72.

There is a spectacular build of it in the Scale Rotors gallery

It is a good size helicopter, about the size of an H-34 so would look good alongside a Huey.

Hi.

I have built the MI-4 from trumpeter in 1/35 scale. It is in Scale rotor gallery under Shark 64.

What questions do you have ...I might be able to answer them

Thanks for the reply!  Just want to know your overall impression on fit and quality...  It's a pricey kit and before I sink that dough into it, I just want to know the down and dirty.

Cheers, Matt

 Hi.

I dont know if you had the time to take a look at my build in scale rotors or not. In any case it was my first build with trumpeter kits. The helo is so different I had to get it. I was able to find it on e-bay for about $ 35 dollars. i was not going to pay more than $ 50 for it. I love the kit very much. It was a fun build. The ony problems in my book are the rotor blades attachement. they are too heavy for the kit part. reinforcing them is necessary. Be careful also in sanding the engine frames...I broke mine twice.

I wrote an article on scale rotor ...that might help you as well in your build.

I recommend the kit. It is a big kit.
