This is Mr. Jim Frye (CW3 then), who was SIP with the Go-Go's for 9 months; the longest of any other Go-Go Personnel in the Unit. He was assigned to the Unit so long, because the fire he directed was so accurate! Lt. Hicks (KIA 5-5-67), who was renowned for his ability to place fire exactly where it was aimed, trained Jim in the operational arts, and made him a very valuable asset.

In a small palm shrouded village near Tam Quan, U.S. Infantry were being plagued by a Sniper who they couldn't flush out because they were operating amongst civilians within the village. The ACH-47's done a couple low passes, in hopes of drawing fire, and on their second pass, Jim Frye caught sight of someone in black pajama's with seven or eight AK's strapped to their back, peddling like crazy on a bicycle down a dirt road that came out behind the village. Jim, who was flying "Birth Control", lined up on the target and fired a rocket from each tube... which converged about center mass of the fleeing gook! Needless to say, there were no more reported sniper trouble in the village that morning!
