I'm putting the finishing touches on this DOSAW UH-60L and believe I'll have the bottom half of a pantsuit in either baby blue or pink hanging out of the port hatch.

I can't say if it's true or not but heard Hillary's aircraft "Call Sign" while on a visit to Iraq was "Broom Stick One!".

Appreciate the response. It definitely will go on the model; State needs to repluse everything it can! Thanks again...

It is an ALQ-144 Inra-Red (IR) guided missile counter-measure device, a.k.a Disco Ball.  It defeats incoming missiles and jams them using IR pulses to protect the aircraft.

UH-60L Blackhawk query
Posted by Dick McC2 on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 7:54 AM

I'm in the process of building up a 1/48th UH-60L and have a question for all you Blackhawk gurus. Included in the kit is a small, 1/4 in. tall cylinderical object which goes on top of the fuselage, the engine compartment, in a round hole. I've looked a a number of -60L pics on the web and have ascertained this is to be painted clear red. This I have accomplished with first a coat of gloss black, then a light coat of Alclad II Aluminum, and finally Tamiya clear red. It looks good, but does anyone have any idea what it is. FYI: Once complete, I plan on decaling this Blackhaw with Dept. of State Air Wing markings. Yep, I know they don't actually have any UH -60s, but I figure its time they upgraded.

Certainly would appreciate any input.
