What kind of helicopter am I?

I had an unusual kit when I was younger, and unfortunatly no longer have it. I will describe it as best I can, maybe someone can identify it.

I know it was used in Vietnam its main use as a rescue operation. The body was very boxy and it had two rotors on top side-by-side that angled outwards to each side and counter rotated withthin the arc of the other, the blades being spaced 90 degrees off from each other.A twin boom extended from the back with a tail plane connecting the two and a verticle stablizer on each side. A large  round duct ran from the engine to the rear boom where the exhaust angled towards the ground at the end. The back had a rounded set of clam shell doors and a sliding door on the right side had a hoist above. I seem to recall it having 4 wheels for landing gear that had some sort of skids or ski looking plates the wheels extended through...

I tried searching on the net, but without knowing what it was I couldn't find much. I regret tossing it out as a kid. I loved that model as it was so unusual looking.

Thanks if you can tell me what it was and maybe some photos would be great!

Why can't I find the "Any" key on my keyboard?

Also know as an HH-43.  The Testors 1/32 kit is a reissue and usually goes for 9.95.  Cobra Company makes an interior set.

Thank you ever so much! I wonder if the kit I had was the one you mentioned. It was fairly large but it's hard to remember things from when you were 10. I remember playing with it as the rear doors operated and the rotors had plastic gears inside to keep them in sync. Might have to look around for that kit.

Thanks again!

Found some great online info about it as well!

Looks like Squadron offers a Mach 2 Productions in 1/72 scale for around $35 bucks. Anybody familiar with this kit?

With that particular kit, no.  With Mach 2, yes.  Get the Italeri kit.

maffen, do you have anything useful to contribute?  It seems that you just wanna go around and insult as many people as you can...grow up!
