Yeah - mate, I feel your pain.

Hawkeye delcals are often the only game in town, but almost always suffer from lack of references and accuracy...but, I've always been able to cobble those decals into something that looks correct.

I've used maybe 15 Hawkeye sets...never found one to be correct yet...but like I said, they're often the only game in town for Australian subjects.

I wish I was able to help you with Huey references...sorry mate -

Cheers, LeeTree

If you have not put them on yet try asking at Aussie Modeller. ( www.aussiemodeller.com )

There are quite a folks there that can answer this question for you.

I posted a RAAF Huey walkaround on the "Readers Photos" page of the Aussie Modeller website a few weeks ago. It might be a help for you.

Sorry I'm no help. I checked my only UH-1 book and there are no RAAF Hueys in there.

Someone posted a link to an RAAF Hueys in Vietnam website, but that was probably you.

Neat project though, good luck finding the info, I'm looking forward to seeing it done.

I've also tried comparing the RAAF decal stencils with my Fireball Flat Iron decals .

There's only a few RAAF stencils that are similar to the Flat Iron decals , so it's become quite frustrating . I think I'll just place the main decals on the Huey for the time being .

I've tried using some of my previous Huey builds and decal instruction sheets for reference , however a lot of the RAAF stenciling is quite difficult to read even with a magnifing glass .

I may have to guess where some of them might go ???

I'm about to start decaling my 1/72 RAAF Huey with some decals I got from Hawkeye Models .

On the sheet , there's quite a number of stencils to use around the Huey .

However there is no mention on the reference sheet as to where the stencils are to be placed . A few I can identify as going on the cockpit and cabin doors but the the rest I have no idea where they should be positioned ???

I was wondering if anyone had some sort of stencil data resource I could use , to help me figure out where my decals should go . I would very much like to use them it would be a shame for them to go to waste .

Any help would be greatly appreciated .
