I bought a Mach 2: 1/72 Super Frelon kit
Posted by Helo H-34 on Thursday, October 1, 2009 9:32 PM

I've had a Mach 2 1/72 scale Super Frelon on backorder for a little while now , the kit arrived in the mail today .

I thought I would share a couple of in-box pic's

The Super Frelon will be part of my Israeli IDF helicopter builds/collection .

I'll probably start her early in 2010 along with some IDF Apache's and Cobra's .

That looks better than I would have expected.

I have a Mach 2 HH-43 and it looks like its going to be a bit of a project when I get to it.

 Hi Aaronw ,

I've had mixed results with my to previous Mach 2 builds .

My HH-43 build stalled a while back , although most of the hard work is probably done and would only require a little more effort on my part to finish her off .

The biggest issue is the fit of the front canopy , lot's of filing and putty required

I decided to cut open the cockpit and cabin doors and remove the clamshell doors from the rear . I also changed the cockpit seats and added a couple of pilots .

I had better results with the Mach 2 , RC-3 Seabee .

The Seabee was a much easier build and I'm more than happy with the finish model .

I've seen some of the HH-43s built up really nice, but I'm even more impressed with them after seeing what they started with. I've seen resin kits that were crisper, but that is all there is for 1/72 HH-43s.

That little amphibian came out nice, I'm not at all familiar with the plane, it looks like something built on the weekend in a guys garage.  Smile [:)]
