STILL waiting on my buddy to get the pics to me.....he's good like that!!!! I'll give him a call tomorrow.

Once I do get them, I'll have to figure out how to get em from e-mail onto my PC, so I can get em to photobucket. I figured out how to do it, awhile back, can't remember how, for the life of me!!!

You get all settled in to the new place? Back on the bench?

That's some pretty cool stuff to watch. At my local airport, where I work, one of the UofM Survival flight pilots is also in the guard, flying Chinooks. He comes by on his "weenend" and does all that crazy stuff out on the runway. One time he came in and landed just the tail at the end of the runway, taxied the length of the runway and taxiway all the way back to the point of touchdown, keeping the nose about 10 foot of the ground the whole time. He then set the nose down, brought the tail up a few feet and did a rolling T/O, at about 50 feet, he spun that thing around and climbed out backwards!!! Wish I had my video camera.

Glad you like the video. It must be neat to see them fly on a regular bases. Keep up the excellent work.

I just got off the phone with my buddy. He had sent the pic to my phone, I have no way to get it to my computer so, he'll e-mail to my pc. Hopefully tonight. As soon as I get it, I'll put it up here. I know it does have white in it, and the measurements equall out to nice even MMs. I'll put them up at the same time.

 Thanks again, HUGELY appreciated!

Fermis I make most of my nose art decals from pictures, most of them I rework in Paint Shop Pro, they arent as nice as commericaly made decals though. So if you like, get a picture to me with the size you want in decimel inches and I will be more than happy to give it my best shot. I use Microscale decal paper on my HP 720c deskjet printer. Oh and depending on the colors on the decal I may have to use white decal paper not clear, meaning you might have to cut the decal out. But you are a master doing that from the stencels you cut out for this build.

 Thanks Randy,

I'm still waiting on my buddy to e-mail me a good, straight on pic. I'll give him a call this afternoon and harass him a bit. Could a decal be made from a pic posted right here??? I tried asking over in the DECALING section, with no answer. If you could do it, I would be forever greatful!

 Thanks again my friend!!!

Wow Fermis you out did yourself on this build, looks like one could just jump in, fire it up, then fly off into the sunset. Do you have a picture of the nose art, maybe I could help you out, as I have been printing my own.

Got her knocked out last night, just need to get a decal of the nose art. Spent a few hours cutting out tiny, individual letters for the stencils on the front armor plate, little crooked, but what can you do with 30 some letters 1/2 a millimeter tall.

 Thanks much, guys!

All the extra BS usually get me all frustrated, but I'm lovin this one, most everything is turnin out pretty good. I really don't have steady hands, the key is to have a good steady anchor point!!!

V-man, fear not, the scratching. I used to be pretty intimidated by it, but when you just jump in, the water's better than you thought it would be!!! I think the main thing is, knowing what can be used for what, and a bit of imagination!

Amazing work, Fermis. This thing is just gorgeous. I home mine comes out 1/10th as good as this. And major kudos on the Griffin. Thats one steady hand you have there to paint that. Cant wait to see what you do with the rotor heads.

Thanks Roughseas, I can't wait to see it finished either!!! Been hittin it pretty hard the last couple days. All that's left for the fuse is some antennas and the guns for the windows, then I'm on to the rotors(insert OLD propeller hat smily here).

I spent the better part of last nights and todays sessions on scratching the crew door detail. I'm real proud of this one!!! Got all the fiddly bits on as well(saving the front armor til I can get a decal for the "art")

The sides are made from some leftover resin stubs, drilled out. Wire for the rail and eyelits for the cable. The rest is bits and pieces of styrene and stretched sprue. Also used stretched sprue for the cable.

Thanks JP, maybe I can talk my buddy into getting something for me(I'm sure he's got a manual or two layin 'round.)

Got some weathering done. A combo of drybrushing and pastels. I did a bit of real light pastels to simulate rivet lines.

Sorry guys, this is about all I have of a top view of a rotor head...unfortunately it is for the older models and doesn't inclue the blade 'de-icing' wiring harness found on many of the aircraft

Finally finished all the markings, had to freehand the GRIFFIN on the tail. A decal would have looked much better, but, what can you do? (a little touch up is in order)

001-50.jpg picture by fermisb

Dullcoated and unmasked, ready for a bit of weathering.

002-43.jpg picture by fermisb

and a bit of detail around the nose.
