Thanks Ray :) Great idea!! I think I will build the gunship version in the future. After I build the P-38 (Marge) for my buddy. I'm going to build the Night Lightning for myself next.

Thanks Charlie! I've fixed the cyclics & I also glued the pilot in. He kept leaning over. I also had to use microscale liquid decal film on some of the decals because they started to peel. But they're stuck good now :) I rent an office space at a Reality office in town & have it hanging from the ceiling. I do have to say I've got a bunch of compliments on it which is rewarding. I'm thinking of building another & making a diorama for it. If I do I'll build it better to scale, more research on it. But I have to build a P-38 for my buddy first which I'm working on now. Anyway I do have to say I really enjoy modeling :) Maybe someday I'll get really good at it. This forum is full of awesome people & great help & advice!

A very nice build. I just wish MRC would put more accuracy into their kit. It wouldn't take much on their part to make it a much better kit. Again, very nice work.

BTW J. Its a fairly easy build. The only real difficult part was the tail boom. What I did was glue the two sides together first, and then snuck in the top & bottom sections and glued them in place.

For gluing the canopy I used the testors "window glue" (I use that for all "glass" parts and canopies on everything I build). It takes a long time to dry, but I used only a few small drops, and held it in place and watched a hockey game for about a 1/2 hour while holding it :) It dries clear and doesn't fog up the clear plastic.

Thanks Guys! Darnit. I thought the cyclics looked strange :) But I should be able to fix that easily enough. I painted it according to what the instructions said,, so I guess following the instructions aren't allways the best thing. But thats easily fixed too. Ya live and learn! That's why I like posting on this forum, if somethings out of whack you guys will let me know, which is awesome. I'm still an amature. I used to build cars a while back about 15 years ago, and just recently started up again last year. I really didn't do any reasearch on this one at all until after, because I kinda rushed through this one, because my buddy has been harping on me for a while to build him a P-38 Lightining. I started painting the cockpit last night. 3 hours and no gluing so far :)

Anyway,, no more rushing through builds. I'm a pretty patient person when it comes to this stuff. My friends tell me there's no way they would have the patience for this kind of stuff.

You have the cyclic control sticks installed backwards.  The curved part should face the rear so that the pilot can grip the handle.  Also, it looks like the handles are red.  They should be black bakelite (early plastic).  The rest of the stick, along with the collective (angled stick next to the pilot's left leg), should be gray like the rest of the interior.

   Thanks for the photos. That is a very nice build. I have been thinking of getting this kit and doing a MASH diorama. This was the inspiration I needed.
