A wonderfully ugly vehicle, beautifully and skillfully rendered. Cool

I especially like how the canopy came out, and the cockpit is amazing. Clearly, I need to visit the helicopter forum more often.

Sorry for the late reply RODC.

Thanks for the compliment!  She came out looking pretty good and I owe it all to everyone on these forums who have helped me along whether they knew it or not.  Yes

Excellent work Jeremy.  I built this one several years ago.........loved it but looked nowhere as good as your version.  Fantastic!

The Flying Crocodile - Revell 1/48 Mi-24

Here is my recently completed 1/48 Revell Mi-24 that I've been working on since July. Built this over at John's (jeaton01) Helicopter Group Build. Amazing work going on over there... check it out if you can. I took my time because this is my first helicopter build and I wanted to make her look good... and then came the AMS!

I started off sanding down the panel lines and giving her a rescribe. Not correct as these old gals are rivit monsters but that's what I wanted to do. I then opened all the vents and grilles and shaved off the molded on grab handle and made my own from wire.

Somewhere along the lines she ended up with a Cobra Company resin cockpit, exterior detail set and weapons set. Decals came from Linden Hill.

The paint is the Russian "alternate" desert scheme. I mixed my own colors from MM enamels to give her a nice sun bleached look. I found a picture online of a bird that was so sun faded that the primer was showing through. I tried to replicate the look by sanding through the colors as I put them on.

Well, enough gabbin'! Here she is and I hope you like. I welcome all comments... good, bad or ugly!  Wink
