Jim,
If you want high quality USCG ship models, check out JAG for 1/700 scale Secretary class and the newer Bear class. Only trouble is they are 1/700 and small, I mean teeny tiny!!
For fixed wing a/c we have the Heller C 130 and the very hard to find Falcon 20. Helo's are best found in 1/72 scale and then use the decals from the Revell HH65 kit.
The Trumpeter HH65 in 1/48th requires alot of mods to make it right, but it is do-able.
Other than that. . .heavy sigh.

I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it.

Heck,
As a current USAF SAR dude I'm pretty miffed that there's no good HH-3E Jolly Green models out there. I think the history of the ol' Jolly Green is great enough to warrent better representation by the model manufacturers. I've got a hunk o junk Lindburg (i think). What I'd like to see is a 1/48 or a 1/35 scale HH-3E.
I do think the coastie's have gotten a raw deal from the model manufacturers.

I'm old and trying to bribe my way out of the hot spot in the next life. I have the sheet you need intact. For some silly reason (which now escapes my gin riddled mind) I bought the sheet years ago. You may have it . I'll never use it so it should go to a good home. How shall I get it to you?

Years ago Superscale marketed a 72nd scale decal sheet for USCG HH-3F, HC-130 and HU-16, under item number 72-109. Dont know if its still available, though.

All I need is that classic shield!......... even a good, plain image so my buddy can scan it....He has an ALPS printer that makes excellent decals!

Alas, Uncle Sams Confused Group doesn't get it's due in the world of decals.
Micro-Scale used to have a sheet in 1/72 for the Monogram Albatross, the Aurora H3, and the HC130 from Heller, but they quit making it years ago. Even when produced several of the air stations on it were no longer around. . .
A company in Austrailia was supposed to make a sheet for an HH60J, as listed in FSM over a year ago, but it was never produced.
I'm afraid your only choices are the 1/72 Revell (ex Matchbox) kit of the HH65A, or the Trumpeter kit of the same aircraft in 1/48. Revell also has some old CG shields in it's rebox of the H19 kit, again in 1/72.

Howdy Friends!

Have any of you Earthlings ever seen any optional Decals or KITS that might have decals that will work for a larger type Coast Guard rescue Chopper?

( I'm on another mission! ) Tongue [:P]
