HUS-1 Seahorse External Fuel Tank ???
Posted by Helo H-34 on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 4:17 PM

I built this 1/72 scale Italeri UH-34D Seahorse helo about 18 months ago ; Airbrushed with Gunze acrylic H-98 Fluorescent orange .

At that time I didn't have any black "NAVY" lettering to put on her but more recently I went through my kits and decal stash and I may be able to scrounge enough markings from different scources to make a navy bird .

I also found this pic over at www.vaq34.com of a HUS-1 Seahorse with the external fuel tank fitted .

I think I might have asked this question before but I was wondering if anyone knew of any type of aftermarket fuel tank and bracket system that may be available or perhaps someone might have scratch built one .

I would like to add two external fuel tanks , one to the Navy 34 and one to a USCG HUS-1G as well .

Any Thoughts anyone ???

I don't know of any AM tanks and brackets, tank looks like a standard external fuel tank, bracket will need to be built

Nice looking build.  I too am trying to finish up a similar looking red/orage trainer scheme in markings from HT-8.  The paint job is what is slowing me up now.  I think I must have gotten some bad Model Master paint because when I air brushed it on it dried on the model like 220 grit sandpaper, ugh.  I had to wet sand her down to smooth it out, reprime and I think I'm just about ready to try again.  I can post some pics whenever I get it done...
