I can see it now... thanks man, that's cool!Cool [8D]

You know, that animation reminds me of one overcast (and VERY dark) evening just east of Montgomery, Alabama... we were in position to pick up a 155mm Field Piece, and the fellow on the ground who was going to hook it up, reached up and touched the aircraft skin (without his gloves) before the aft wheels were on the ground, which completed the old Static Electricity circuit! We saw the flash, instantly followed by our FE speed-yelling; "PULL UP, PULL UP!!!".

This is the best position for hooking a load, although it's preferable to be back a little farther (my opinion) with the aft wheels resting on the ground, to prevent a Static discharge from *accidently* happening.

The trooper that got zapped was later asked how it felt, and he said; "It was a shocking experience"[:0]

Glad you liked it Frank. Not sure what the deal was with the pic not appearing at first. Good story too. You probably have the link already but here it is anyway:

Thanks Sal,

My friend and Chinook Guru, Mark Morgan operates that great website. He is getting ready to transfer to Ft. Rucker from Alaska, or may have already made the move. Mark helped me when I was learning web design, and over the last few years, he and I swap pictures for publication on both our sites.

He has an awesome Tail Number directory, where one can locate or find the disposition of any Chinook built.

Have you ever clicked the link called "Take a ride in a Chinook"?, check it out!http://www.chinook-helicopter.com/fly_a_chinook/flight.html

It's hard to tell what you can find on his pages! Smile [:)]

Thanks again,
Frank

Hey Old Hooker, I'm a middle age & current Hooker. Started out with B-5-159 ANV in 92, moved on to B-7-101AVN from 93-96, & been with G (-) 149ANV ever since, including spending most of last year in Kuwait & Iraq. Currently working on my packet to go walking warrant. Take a look at my web page. Its www.ch47guy.50megs.com. Just go to the photo page. Its got a few pics that you might find intersting.

Good morning Chris,

Thank you very much for the link to your site, and more importantly, for your service to our Great Nation, and the Chinook! Also, you sure have outdone yourself on that B-1, consider your site Bookmarked! Smile [:)]

Here's a 1/48 Chinook kit that I butchered up one time.... Wink [;)]

Frank :

Thank you for you kind words.

Your ACH-47 is incredible ! The article is first rate also. I've never seen a picture of what the Aroura 48th kit was like. I know a guy who might be willing to sell me one. Your pics have sealed my desire to buy it when the money becomes available. I only build in 1/48, with the exception of airliners, so a 48th -47 would be a welcome addition to my collection.

I'll have to read these posts about Panda 1/35 -47. Might have to build one for my company's orderly room.
