Thanks Randie!

Sounds like a very cool idea!....but the blanket is already painted and glued into place....I put it back by the rear ramp......its 1/35 scale....the same as my Helo.

Troy.
Last night at work I had a thought on the thermal blanket.
Go to your friendly "Mom 'n Pop" burger joint, not one of the chains. They use a sheet of paper to wrap their burgers in that has foil on one side and paper on the other.
Cut a piece to the proper dimensions and fold it up. It seems that that would be a little more to scale. Thumbs Up [tup] Big Smile [:D]
Just a thought that I thought I'd pass along.

I could never do that!....they are my specail friends! Tongue [:P]

Though that would be cool!.....like the Carburator fairy!.....you just put the old carb or injectors under your pillow at night and wahla! ( or your Wifes pillow )

Thanks for the kind words!

This kit even has the exposed elbow juntion trans unit at the bottom of the rear stabilizer! ...It needed some help so I added some aluminum rods to clean up the shafts....could not help myself, I also had to thin the plastic in that area a bit ...otherwise the tail booms sheet metal would be 5 inches thick if not more in scale!

That must be some thin styrene!! It looked almost like cloth!!!! Allowing the light to shine through like it does. COOL!!!

Dude!.....those are the benches....just like you see in Chinooks.

The kit came with printed templates and a very thin sheet of styrene...after cutting out 22 back pieces and 9 bottom parts I then airbrushed them guards red.

Tonight I robbed my Revell 1/32 Euro Copter ambulance chopper for the very detailed two part medical stretcher to stick inside along with a rolled up blanket from a 1/35 scale German truck...painted it silver, like a thermal blanket and a Fire extinguisher.

Tomorrow I glue the two main halfs together!

Thanks Mark!

The BIG trick now on this kit is too get both sides to match up.....with a kit of this size I'm pretty sure that was difficult even when it was brand new.

The interior is all together and tonight I will be doing some pre fit testing and probably adding some extra styrene for locking tabs and more glueing surface like I had to do on the 1/24 Huey.....I only wish I did all this BEFORE I painted! Tongue [:P]

On second thought, the feline that we serve around here produces quite enough of the same, so I must respectfully decline the very generous 2nd Prize gift.

Thanks for the kinds words gentlemen!
Big Smile [:D]

I figured since I'm building mine as a USCG rescue chopper the typical red bench material would work.

No need for the decals...thanks for asking!

Hey Papa-Echo,
Lookin good buddy! BTW, here's a link to some good detail shots of the Super Frelon. The seats in the pics are a different color than yours, but there's some really good detail shots that may be useful for ya.

The Super Frelon is sure looking good!! Speaking of which, the SF on the EBay link you posted:

Except its 22 inches long! NOT 36!....geeze!

He must have changed it...

**From the E-Bay Ad: "This is a large scale model of the French transport helicopter SA321 Super Frelon. Highly detailed with complete interior and 14 figures. 32 inches long with a 23 inch rotorspan"

I've done business with this Seller in the past and he can be trusted, so...
there ya go, Randie, then you'll have 24 Commando's AND a helicopter!!

No offense taken, Troy. I'm proud to be an Okie from........well I'm not from Muskogee. But I'm close. Big Smile [:D]
So as not to sound to greedy. If you or you know of someone wanting to build the 1/48 Hasegawa SH-3 Seaking in the bicentinnial scheme. I just came across the complete decal sheet the other day. Yours or theirs for the asking.

Thanks guys!! Big Smile [:D]

The benches do not move...but I sanded down the pin locations on the parts that are in the up position.

The figures are very detailed!....they are alot like the TAMIYA figures, all the parts are seperate, the heads, helmets, upper & lower body halfs, legs etsc...lotz of little goodies like, guns, back packs, pouches and canteens.......now that I am looking at thos pack I found one clear part I thought was history.

The Camando parts make up 3 big trees and I'm pretty sure there are 12 figures total.

**** If any nut here wants this set of Comandos, Just ask...its yours! ****
( First come first serve )

OHHHHHHKLAHOMA! where the wind goes.....

Sorry Randy...I couldn't help it! Tongue [:P]
