Nice job.  As others have said my models were nowhere as nice at your age.  Welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy the hobby for many years to come.

That's very well done for your first solo build.

If my eyes don't decieve me, that's the old Monogram 1/48 kit. I built it when I was about 14 and it was a challenge for me then and I had many solo build under my belt by that age.

Just one little question: one of the front cockpit windows seems painted over on your model. Is it painted over, or did you miss some masking when you were removing it? In some of your pictures it looks more like masking material than actual paint.

Either way, anyone who takes on the Monogram Hind kit has my respect.

Stick with it, your skills will only improve yet I see no or very few flaws with the helicopter.

Later on girls, cars ect may have you hang up the models for a few years. (most here did the same)

You have a head start on becoming a master modeler after the teenage distractions. Keep your models & supplies, you will be glad you did one day. A few modeled through their teens, maybe you will be one of them.

Thats a great Hind there C-MO, like the others have said, way in advance of what I did at your age & I'm not letting on how long agao that was.

I've a Hobby Boss Hind in my stash to do & I'll be rapt if it comes out as good as yours. Well done.

Props to 101st but yea its an amazing model and im acctuly getting it to try it out myself.

In the mean time keep up the great work and dont lose intrest in something you like to do. youll be great at it.

A beautiful model! I love to see when other kids start modeling on their own because you don't see many kids modeling anymore. Trust me I know! Most of my friends at school don't even know what a model is. 

I think it is outstanding for a ten year old...what model and scale is this?

Not to be a downer but I learned this great technique for the windows and clear parts.

Instead of using any paint tape there is some none stick  vinal mask that you strech over the area and you cut the parts you want to paint and its easy to cut.

(and an airbrush works best with the vinal tape, i have a cheap $20 airbrush that i picked up from Hobby Lobby)

Im only sixteen and  ive done a couple of clear parts that ticked me off but once i got that vinal tape it worked amazingly.

(and for the fuselage and two-toneing it, Silly Putty works great for camos like that)(I Airbrush alot so i have these techniques for Airbrushing)

C-MO - great work on the model. It beats the heck out of the models I used to produce. I'm 3.7 times 10 and I can't even get a single model complete these days.

I'm impressed with your work and with you and your father for finding something you can do together. Keep up the awesome work and enjoy the time with your dad, it'll be something you'll always have to remember.

Heck, he even got the links to work! That's more than most of us can say. Looks very nice! If it's not to late you might try to put a little bend in those rotors. One looks like it's tweaked up a little. Just gently bend them down a little at a time. Might work to give them a little heat with a hair dryer. Go sloooow.

Nice build. At 10 I was lucky not getting glue all over! The only thing your missing is experience and maybe some funding. Keep building your going to be great in no time!

Do some chores, get some money and get some tools a little at a time. Don't forget to let your dad borrow them!

Nice Hind!  I have to say that not only was I not that good at 10, I'm not sure my stuff is better than your now.  And unfortunately I'm a few years removed from 10 at moment.  Great job and welcome to the forum.

Outstanding work for someone your age. My age ten models might still be around if I could have built them so nicely. Mine all ended up in the backyard for BB gun practice

WOW, i wasn't even building model kits when i was 10. You are off to a great start. And i would only echo stikpusher. Concentrate on the basics. And you have plenty of time to improve your skills. So don't rush, take it slow and easy and before you know it you will be matching the best of them.

C-Mo, you're off to a great start. If this is your work at 10, keep it up and in a few years you will be turning out some great work.

Concentrate on your basic building skills at first and the rest will fall in place over time. I know that Hind is not the easiest kit or the best fitting kit to build. Get yourself some sanding sticks to work on those seams on your next build, and check alignment of ordinance that you hang. All the little things like that add up. And some folks constructive criticism will hit with the subtlety of a JDAM. Just be ready to sift thru the words to find their point, shrug off the delivery. Welcome aboard!

Agree with Mikey. I was not anywhere your level when I was ten. Not even paint was applied on it.

Welcome to the forums. Theres a few guys here who are quite sarcastic. But if you give as good as you get you'll be fine.
