H-43 B Huskie WIP *** updates more PICS!

My son Joseph (10 yrs. old) and I attended our first local IPMS club meet last month.  We met a great bunch of guys!  At the end of the meeting, as is customary, they did a drawing for an assortment of prices which included research material, and best of all, kits.  We did not win anything but being that it was my son’s first time there one of the members gave him one of the kits he’d won, an old Testors H-43 B Huskie.

This is my son’s second build from the box to the shelf.  I’ve been trying to teach him all I can in the process and I must say for his age, he is doing a phenomenal job.  He plans to show the completed kit at one of the club meetings soon.

Here is the box.

This is the kit almost ready for paint.  The kit was badly warped so he and I had a lot of trouble making a proper fit.  He did his best.

Here he is at the paint booth with AB in hand.  He opted for a winter camouflage design so here we go, first layer.

A white huskie, masked, painted white and drying.

More pictures to follow...

so proud! Crying

First round of masking commences…

After tree rounds of masking and painting, and some long hours of drying time, the masking comes off to reveal this!

Not bad for his first time!  Now on to the rotors, wheels and what ever else comes up.
