1/24th scale Air Ambulance (a Huey conversion)
Posted by dpty_dawg_ca on Sunday, June 19, 2011 9:20 PM

building a model air craft of any type is a new experience for me. I normally do heavy machinery and large truck models and usually in dioramas. I only build in 1/24-1/25 scale. A Monogram 1/24th scale Rambo Huey followed me home from a model show a couple years back.because it was the right scale. I since learned that the Ontario Air Ambulance service at one time flew a twin Huey. It had a ho-hum white paint scheme. Their new scheme is a brilliant orange and the air ambulance service is simply known as "ornge" . I decieded to use the new paint scheme on the old model.

This is what I ended up with:

and a picture of the ornge paint scheme

Even though there is a rumour that Revell is goiing to repop this kit I doubt very much if I would build another one. As you  can see from the pictures I didn't do a great job of hiding the seam down the centre of the body.

Thanks for looking

Carl
