FOR LARGER COCKPIT GLASS PARTS:
About one year ago I started to use the almost clear shelving paper that my Wife was using for glass etching....so I thought I can use that stuff for cockpit masking...I first take off the back side and place a larger piece over the individual window and rub it in real good, then use the back side of my panel line scriber in the corners and along the edges....then I use a new number 11 blade and cut it out!...so that only the canopy frame work is exposed.
I installed the cabin windows after painting the sides..that way no need to mask...which would have been tricky cuz they are recessed a bit. I like to do that to all my projects when I can.....I don't like to mask clear parts.
This is Hellers 1/35 scale Super Frelon...close to 400 parts..22 inches in length...... Its a French naval/marine cargo/troop chopper. I did not care much for my country of origin options so I decided on a USCG scheme...cool colors and I always wanted to do a USCG helo and its very close to a helo the Coast guard use to use.
Here is a good INFO linc on this BIG BIRD!
