Re-issuing of the CH/HH-53
Posted by Mustang8376 on Thursday, November 8, 2012 3:49 PM

Looking to gather materials for building the MH-53.  While doing my research I was wondering if anyone knows if there will be a new kits issued of the CH/HH-53?

I am aware of Cobra Comapny's update kit for the Revell HH-53 and CH-53 G/GS, but with my luck once I get started a company will issue the exact version I want to build. :)

Current build: 1/48 Monogram A-1H & AMT Jedi Starfighter.

Completed:  1/48 Monogram/Revell P-61B, 1/32 Hasegawa F6F-5, 1/48 Hasegawa F-16C, 1/48 Revell Mig-21PFM, 1/48 Revell/Monogram AH-64A, Revell/Monogram 1/48 F-14D, AMT 1/420 USS Defiant, AMT 1/650(?) USS Enterprise, 1/72 Bandai VF-1J, AMT 1/537 USS Reliant, Academy 1/35 M1-A1 Abrams, Academy 1/48 F-86F30, Linbergh's USS Gato

I have not seen any reports of any companies planning any new tool kits of the 53. Revell re issued their kit in a limited run release about 2 years ago. I hear you loud and clear about the conversion/new release luck. That has happened to me more than once.

You can still find Academy 1/48 H-53's on Ebay...  All said and done with shipping, they run about what they did on the online market (if not a little cheaper).

This doesn't help with the MH-53 but Revell is Reissuing the CH-53GA of the German Airforce.  I read somewhere that it has the parts to make the CH-53A, C, and later Jolly Green.  Check it out!

I am pretty sure it will come with the original sprues, from which one can make an A, C, or D, plus a sprue of parts specificly for the GA, which would be rotor blades, etc.
