I was visiting my LHS when lo and behold, the kit I was wishing for is sitting on the stacks of model boxes! It is the H-34 in 1:48 scale. I just had to get it. The sprue parts look very good. Details are very fine. Any kit review of this kit. It is by MRC but according to the owner of the shop it was done by Trumpeter. The kit comes in two versions, Navy and Marine. I got me the Marine version
Good find! I look forward to seeing your H-34 build here!
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

I was just looking at the same kit yesterday and may go back for it today!
I would have guessed Academy. You'll know if it's Hobby Boss if the rotor goes in the wrong direction.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
I am about to start my build. I have started to prepare the painst I will need. One of them which is much used will be aircraft grey. I use Tamiya paints (enamels). What would be the closest to it or what mix can I make to get this?
looks like there are 2 out there now. i have the revell one for a colorado army national guard display project.

I have started work on the H-34 US Marine version. The details are fantastic and from the parts that I have already put together, fit is very good. Here are a few pictures:

These are small parts of the R2800 engine. The R2800 alone is already a kit by itself.

This small assembly has 4 parts.

The angle of the backrest of the seats inside must be correct so that when the sides are installed it will not be in the way. I had to make them stand up a bit from what I did.
WIP. The engine assembly alone has 34 parts and it's not yet complete.

How come photobucket does not open automatically when pasted. It used to.
Cool! I've always thought one of these kits would be awesome with the engine doors open, displaying a detailed engine bay. Can't wait to see how yours turns out.

Are you using the "use rich format" when posting your photos? You have to do that under the "new and improved" forum format.
Ok thanks for the info.
I have started to apply the many PE screens to the tail section which I plant to build folded to show detail of the bilkhead.
Constructor, any updates? Just curious. I saw another build over on the ARC forum, and that one turned out awesome. I'm definitely getting one of these next order I place.
I'm done painting the helo. It looked awesome but I'm still trying ti find out if the swing arms of the tail can support it with the tail folded. seems so thin to hold a big tail. Will post some photos. Just putting the subs together, main fuse, the tail and the door which I will keep open. Don't want to hide the engine.
Cool. Can't wait to see the updates. I have one of these now in my stash. I'm waffling back and forth regarding the blade-fold holders mentioned in the ARC postings, I don't have them yet.
Pictures please constructor ;-)
