Thanks for the tips! As soon as i can, i will purchase Eduard's photo etched set for the interior, because some parts are to thick, the dashboard doesnt look like as the real, etc. After that i can go on.

If you look at the instructions they also give a Fedeal Stock Number for the paint. If you want to vary the color a bit you can use a medium gull gray on the "blankets"(ceiling and aft bulkhead) and use the light gray on the instrument panel and floor. You could dry brush the floor with some silver to give it the worn look espeacially at the pilots and gunners feet area when sitting. The floor of the cabin area would be scuffed from all the ammo boxes drug across it also. I crewed Hueys for 10 years and believe me I don't carry around a "paint chip" to be sure people are painting their Hueys to "specs"! In one interior shot I saw three shades of gray, zinc chromate and black. Good luck on your Huey!

Clear Left!

Welcome pdave

Seems that Matt Gull Grey is closest, Humbrol 140 or Testors 1740 FS 36231

Enjoy your modeling

MRC UH-1C Heavy Hog Interior Painting
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 3:20 AM
hello everybody

first of all, sorry if my english is not too good but i try to make myself clear :)
i'm new to this site and new to helicopter modelling(before i made cars). i start with an mrc uh-1c heavy hog. my problem is that i1m not sure which paint scheme is the real for the inside. the mrc says that the color is overall flat gull gray. i searched a lot for an interior photo but i couldn't find (only a dashboard, which is a shade of light grey). i have seen apocalypse now and platoon, and in these movies the interior was dark grey. i saw a few model which had light grey interior. i read the 'huey front seats' topic and i think that my chopper has red front seats, because it's has markings for114th ahc, 1st aviation brigade, 1967. i hope someone could help me.
thanking in advance (<- i read it in an english book. i hope it means what i think :)
