1/35 scale Huey's

And don't forget the good'ol flying banana.

Remember th 1/32 Revell Huey? Despite the thick clear plastic, the 2-piece windscreen did make the windscreen blend in with the fuselage better.  Of course, the large lumps to form the hinges for the working pilot's doors were a distraction!  Overall, I really did/do still like that particular kit, especially since Cobra Company makes some decent armored pilot seats and an XM-23 weapon system; wish they would make some seats for the rear of the cabin, especially the gunner's seats in the "hell hole".  The overall exterior detail, rivets, access panels looked pretty good for its day as did the cockpit/cabin floor, roof, and instruments.  It is time for a new kit that uses the modern molding techniques that today's companies say they have. How about it??

Further I would ask that whoever might attempt such a new tool kit not waste our time with the one piece canopy model employed by the recent Hobby Boss Hueys.  That technique might be b passable for a 1/72 kit, but their 1/48 "UH-1C" really shows the limitations of the one piece  canopy.

I'll "second" that! Come on Academy! You already have some moldings in the UH-1C that can be used in a "D" or "H" kit. Seats, instrument panel, transmission, engine, tail rotor blades, mast, swashplate assy, and stabilizer bar assy.

Hopefully some manufacturer will interrupt the endless stream of P-51s, ME-109s, FW-190s,etc., etc. and finally produce a decent UH-1D/H "Slick" with an accurate interior and weapons (XM-23 M-60Ds and mounts). A UH-1N with mini guns would be nice, but a D/H would do for now.  And please, not another re-boxing of the Panda/Dragon kit; I think us modellers have waited long enough and deserve a kit of the caliber that the fixed-wing community gets!
