Frank,

Can't wait to see the new products. I hope they can be successful and provide us with all sorts of new goodies! Maybe I'll get of my "ars" and finish something I can show you guys that isn't over 10 years old!

Mel,

It's probably the most sensible news I've heard in recent times, if he can get it going, because of the way he wants to produce the molds. It's one of those; "Wonder why no one else has come up with that" kind of things. As technology increases by leaps and bounds, it's about time we start seeing the results in the modeling industry. Wink [;)]

Always been a born again helicopter modeler.... (when I get through with all the others I'm doing right now, that is) Shock [:O]

Take care,
Frank

Frank,

You seem highly impressed! You are kinda scaring me buddy! Don't tell me you have become a "born again helicopter modeler"! Heh, heh!

Sounds too good to be true. If they will produce it, I will buy it! Can't wait!

Big Smile [:D] heh heh heh....

Night Flight's gonna do pretty well from what I've seen. I for one can't wait for the CH/MH-53 series, but there's other stuff coming first!

Mel, Troy, and all....

I've been in contact with Mr. Beasely today, and by golly, I see a whole new horizon in modeling dawning here! Using his production methods and absolute INSISTENCY on true accuracy, the days of "this is wrong and that is wrong" may be over for good, for us rotary wing modeling enthusiast!

Using his methods, he will be able to reproduce an EXACT replica for only a fraction of standard production cost... which equates to seeing REAL scale models at long last!

I humbly encourage all who are interested in seeing a new dawn in Helicopter modeling come about, write and give William your full support!

Take care,
Frank

Frank,

No offense taken, I was lucky they picked the UH-1C and the "Sharks" markings. I would love to see an AC-47, but I wish I had a decent UH-1H! Guess we have to "settle" for whatever "old" bone they throw us! Some of the guys in the Unit were contacted by MRC/Academy but they didn't listen to everything they were "advised" about. I guess it's like talking to your kids!

Hope the AC-47 comes your way soon!

Yes, please feel welcome to e-mail me. Smile [:)]

I guess.....Black Eye [B)] I remember when MRC was researching their 1/35th Chinook, they made all kinds of contacts, requesting pictures, etc., for accuracy... too bad they caved on the idea in favor of producing a kit that is even more rare, the UH-1C! Angry [:(!]
(no offense Mel, there was nothing like the old "Charlie" Model, but you know what I'm talking about.........Wink [;)])

Well, I guess that answers the "language" question.... they are obviously already experts on those aircraft, and have no desire nor need of any information from the people who performed such meaningless task as actually living with them!

BTW: Italeri produced their ACH-47 completely from that picture on the front of the Squadron/Signal Chinook book............. Sheesh!!

A few months ago I even used a translator and sent Panda a note in Chinese about the 1/35 Hook and STILL no response!

I could understand that 'MAYBE' they just don't want to make promises they can't keep?

Then 'MAYBE!' they should have 'NEVER!' said anything to begin with! Angry [:(!]

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!....were are my pills.....got to find pills....pills are our friends! Tongue [:P]

Chiefowl:

Pardon me for not knowing, but who exactly is "We"? Are you associated with Panda Models?

I've attempted numerous times to establish contact with Panda, while their 1/35 Chinook was in the design stage, to offer detail descriptions, such as markings, etc., but there has never been a reply. Maybe they don't have an interpretation engine on their system and just trash anything other than Chinese? [:0] Then again, maybe they've took the route of several other companies, and decided that it's just a "toy" for adolescents, so it doesn't matter anyhow.

When Italeri released the 1/72 ACH-47A "Easy Money", there were so many OBVIOUS discrepancies, not give or takes, but obvious. I guess that's why I wouldn't make a good model manufacturer; I wouldn't sign-off on a kit that wasn't, at least, properly researched. Some look as if the blueprints were drawn from memory! Black Eye [B)]

I sure would like to own a 1/35 CH-46... I think I'd build it as the Marines Presidential aircraft! Wink [;)] There is such an incredible market for historical tandem rotor helicopters, which sadly, have been totally ignored.[] Some company, some day, will manufacture an accurate, detailed, and historically correct tandem rotor series in a detail enhancing scale.... and they're going to make a PILE of money on them too!

Speaking of the CH-46, here's one in Vietnam, that appears to have taken a hit in the Hydraulic Line, causing the "spray" to catch fire. I got that picture while compiling material for my websites, but have yet to locate anyone who actually knows about this particular flight.

Take care,
Frank
