Built this OOB except with aftermarket decals from Wolfpak Decals. HMH-465 in 2009.  Did have to make the IR/LLTV turret from scratch so it's a little crude. Some discussion on the color of the national insignia on another forum questioning the light blue shade but that is what is provided and required per the instructions so I'll leave them as is. Someone showed me a pic with them a lot darker but with no indication of the time-frame.

Nose to nose with "Old 66"

Hey Chris, it looks really good. I especially like the scale looking droop on the rotor blades.          Bob

Nice, looks much better than the CH-53E Sea Dragon, those enlarged sponsons make it look silly.

I planned on doing a 1/72 CH-53 Super Jolly Green to go with my HH-3E Jolly Green, but I think it'd be too big and I'm short on space as it is, but looking at the pics with the SH-3 Sea King it doesn't look all that much bigger (although the rotor span is quite big).

The good thing about the rotor os you can glue the shaft into the top of the housing and set the completed rotor head down onto it. I try to build the rotors so they can be removed, if I'm lucky enough to have a contest quality build to show, but like you, I'm limited on space. The heli's can sit side-by-side while their rotors hang on the wall.

This will be very handy when I finally finish my Halo, this thing is a monster.
