I recently saw the terrific movie "Apocalypse Now" and was particularly impressed by the scenes involving the infamous helicopter raid on a Vietnamese village. I'm interested in putting together a replica of LTC Kilgore's command Huey, a UH-1H with two surfboards strapped to the bottom.
The scale I'm most comfortable working in is 1:35, but I can't seem to find any Huey kits in this scale... It looks like they have all been retired by Dragon models. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd be incredibly grateful.
My second dilemma involves trying to find a set of 1:35 Air Cav troopers to go along with it. I suppose I could modify the 1:35 1st Cav Division figures from Dragon to be sitting down, but if there is anything ready-built that I'm overlooking...
In any case, once the build begins, I will be posting a full build log in this thread for the interest of any fellow chopper modelers.
