Fantastic! Thanks mate! I actually missed those support struts. I'm already starting to wonder how I can make the blades well glued / cemented / attached to the main rotor because for sure, the blades might start to "sag" sooner or later. Now that's solved already. Many many thanks for this suggestion. Cheers! ^___^

Dolly, just so you know, while Heavy posted a great pic of the link, all the links are not identical...

You would also need to scratch the 4 support struts, if you want to take it that far...:

Thanks HeavyArty! Glad to have someone who knows a lot about black hawks. Looking on the rotor and blades of my Academy MH-60L DAP kit, looks like a lot of work. But thanks for the photo you've provided, It gave me a good lead where to cut and modify.

One more thing I've decided to make a folded rotor blade is because of space also hehe. My room is not large enough to accommodate birds (yeah, I don't even have airplanes). But I really love helicopters. Sad news though is I can only keep 2 bladed helicopters (I really love the UH-1D. I have one but haven't built it yet) so I really need to create this folded rotor blades mod. Thanks again. : )

Naval versions have a modified rotor head (hinges and motors) and blades (angled root ends) that allow automatic blade folding, just flip a switch in the cockpit.

For Army Black Hawks with a standard rotor head, the blades can be manually folded by removing a couple bolts and adding a spacer that secures the blade in the folded position.

Black hawk Folded Rotor Blades

Good day FSM! Got another question to satisfy my skeptic head. I know that black hawks on ships have their blades folded to save space. Question now is, are those on ships only have the folding rotor blade feature or every black hawk can have their rotor blades folded?

I'm planning to have my MH-60L DAP rotor blades folded (simulating maintenance) but I don't want to mess it so I have to be sure. Thanks!
