There are no UH-1Y kits or conversion sets out there.  You would have to build it all yourself.  I have been thinking about doing the same.  We'll see...

A 412 would be easy, only need a four bladed rotor system but the UH-1Y is a whole nother animal!  Plug behind the pilots to stretch the cargo area, top dog house and engine cowls, new tail boom too!  We can only hope someone will come out with a new kit one of these days!  We could use a new production AH-1Z.   The whole drive train, powerplants, rotors and tail boom are common to the UH-1Y.

Clear Left!

thanks guys. good information.  I see they make 412 in 1/48 scale. I just hope kit manufactures will make it in 1/35 scale

FYI...a UH-1Y is a Bell Model 450. an AH-1Z is a Bell model 449.

I saw in a different forum that those models/conversions are unlikely as Bell is supposedly refusing to share the licensing rights for anything related to the Yankee or Zulu.  I would love to build both though and I'll wait it out!
