Can someone explain what the loose loops of light cable hanging below the banana, usually connected in three or four locations front to back; are for?

They hung the Cargo Hook assy on four cables under the belly that were attached to hard points on the helicopter. It was the same type set up on H-19's and H-34's I believe.
