Decal emergancy! HELP!!
Posted by Papa-Echo-64 on Friday, February 27, 2004 8:58 PM
Hi guys!

As you know I'm all done with my Super Frelon USCG thing and now I need to finish up with my 1/24 UH1-C

and!

Because of a lack in GLOSS my original decal attempt a few months ago was ...well....ICKY! to say the least....well.....I thought I had extra 1/35/1/32 scale Huey decals I could use..but!.....I just checked and NOPE! AHHHHH!!!!!!!

All I really need is the UNITED STATES ARMY for the boom and the AIR CAV emblem for the tail.

1/24 would be cool but I will take anything at this time.....( My Buddy can always blow the images up to scale ) the spring contest are coming up soon and I do not have enough time to get the sheet from Monogram.

I'm willing to pull out some gold fillings! Tongue [:P]

UPDATE!!

For the DUDE who can get me any of the 1/24 scale 80% complete DECAL SHEET I will through in the 1/35 Dragon Nam Helo Crew set! ....I'm pretty sure that set did not have crew insignia decals??
Straighten up and fly right.....

Hey Troy,
What if I scan my decal sheet on a good resolution? Could you run those on decal paper?
Email me if you need that .. I can get that to you tomorrow.
Paul
(PS .. save your crew figs ... I've got 10 sets already)

Howdy Paul! Big Smile [:D]

I would have to have the scanned copy mailed to me.....you loose too much quality when sent on line or taken from a place like google no matter how high the resalution is.

Thanks alot though and I will let you know.

There shouldn't be any detail loss as long as the file is saved in an uncompressed format like .tif or similar.

.jpg, .gif and similar has detail loss due to the compression algorythm designed to keep the file size small.

Not again Papa. Didn't we risk a crew once to get you out of this same situation when you lost the instruction sheet. I will check my sheet in the morning when I get home to see if we can spare another rescue mission. Out.

Troy, Why cant you print the words you want to use a piece of paper and take them to a print shop who has a digital colour copier and get them to print them on decal paper for you. Down load the emblem and print it too.

Check out my chopper on the link, all the words and logos-emblems were done using this method.

Hey papa! If you are in a big hurry, I am not anywhere near the decal stage for mine yet. I can send you my decal sheet complete, and when you get a new one in you can forward it back to me. Let me know if you want to try that. I can get it in the mail first thing Monday.

Troy,

I was ready to help you out yesterday, but I couldn't Log On because of the "cookie" problem. Finally figured out how to fix it today. Consider me the "reserves" if you don't get "fixed" up by one of our other generous buddies!

Clear Left!
