Italeri or even Trumpeter in 1/72 scale are the best for CH-47's. Revell of Germany offers a CH-47 in 1/72 and 1/48 but those are the Italeri kits reboxed.

Mikey, I am not 100% certain, but I think the 72nd Revell Chinook might be a re box of the Matchbox kit. I am pretty sure Revell bought the matchbox moulds, they have reboxed some of their other kits.

I can't compare the matchbox to the Trump kit, but I built 2 a couple of years ago and was pleasantly surprised.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3

I'm pretty sure it is the Italeri kit ROG reboxes a lot of Italeri and Hasegawa aircraft kits. I believe the Matchbox kits were of Airfix origin or the other way around because I had a matchbox TBD-1 and an Airfix TBD-1 and they were the exact same kit just different boxes.

No, Matchbox kits were of their own original tooling. I may be wrong, but I don't recall Matchbox ever releasing a TBD kit.

The Revell of Germany kit is the old Matchbox kit with new decals and one color plastic.

Italeri later retooled the Matchbox kits to upgrade the versions and made the details finer.

Airfix reboxed the later retooled Italeri kits.
