Decals for Revell's old 1/32 Apache?
Posted by dirkpitt77 on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 12:02 PM

Picked up this kit at our club auction last night, only turns out there are no decals in it. I heard the kit decals weren't that great anyway. Does anyone know of an aftermarket set for this? My searches are turning up zilch.

Thanks,

Chris

You could try asking Revell USA or Revell Germany (reissued by both). They may be able to provide replacement decals.

Sheesh! Of course! Why didn't I think of that? I'll give it a try. Thanks Rob.

Chris

edit:  Hmm...then again, I'm guessing this means there ARE no aftermarket decals available. I heard the Revell decals are prone to silvering pretty bad.

Check Werners Wings, Cobra Company, or Fireball models for some generic USArmy helicopter decals. They won't be Apache specific, but most of the markings are standard anyways...

I got one of these many, many years ago. The only aftermarket I remember finding for the kit was a resin detail set by Verlinden. Of course this was many years ago and more might be out. Cobra Company, as previously suggested, is probably the best bet to see if anything else is available for the model.

It's currently a wip on my bench right now.  Very basic.  The biggest ones are the 2 "US ARMY" decals

Hey, that looks good, Shawn. Nice job.

Looks like I can put something together from Cobra Company among their sets, so I'll try that. Thanks guys.

You could always get this kit for the decals.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/AH-64D-Apache-Longbow-Plastic-Model-Kit-Attack-Helicopter-Set-Hapdong-1-35-Scale-/141131068575?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item20dc11349f

This should have some better decals and this is the only 1/35 / 1/32 scale longbow apache around unless there is a conversion set for the Revell/Kangam AH-64A.

That is a rebox of the Kangnam kit and it sucks just as much as the originl Kangman one.  I wouldn't pay anything for that one.  The decals suck as well.  I would get a set of the Fireball decals.  They are awesome.

Didn't Two Bobs do some Apache decals at one point? Or were those in 1/48 only?

Unfortunately, Two-Bobs sheets were only in 1/48.  They were pretty nice though.
