1/35 UH-1D/H
Posted by Huey638 on Saturday, May 31, 2014 7:46 AM
Anyone come across a 1/35 UH-1D or H? I have searched everywhere and can't seem to locate one under 100 dollars. Is there a re-issue on the horizon? I need 2 for a high and low bird Night Hawk. I'm keeping busy with my 1/48 UH-1H II (Huey II) project of combining a Bell 212 and UH-1H. Really hoping a 1/35 UH-1D/H will be offered shortly, any insight would be greatly appreciated.

DML reboxed the 1/35 Panda D and H Hueys with a fret of colored photo-etched parts. I believe that they are out of production, but you can still find them on eBay. The D model came with US markings from the Vietnam era and the H model was issued with German markings. Aftermarket parts and decals are still plentiful, but I'll let the serious rotorheads in this forum fill you in on what's out there.

The Panda come Dragon one is all that is out there in 1/35.

Original Panda Boxings.

Dragon added a PE sheet and some figures.  As stated above, they are OOP.

Hopefully they will be back soon since Dragon is re-releasing the UH-1N as an Israeli helo with Israeli Paras.

If you can go with 1/32, there is also the older Revell one. It is also OOP, but easier to find and cheaper on eBay.  It isn't too bad (some like it better than the Dragon ones).  It is a little less refined with hinged doors and soft details, but Cobra Company and Fireball Modelworks make a couple upgrade sets for it.  It has been offered in many configurations and markings, but is usually (and inaccurately) marketed as a gunship, but long-bodied Hueys were never US gunships.  Cobra Company has the correct M23 doorgun mounts for it as a slick (troop transport) though.

Fireball Modelworks:  www.fireballmodels.info

By the way, if you want to build a Huey II in 1/35, all the parts are in the Dragon 1/35 UH-1N kits to do so.  It still includes the parts for the single-engine necelle.

The kit infofrog is talking about is  a "B" model, not a "D/H"

Yes you are correct .  i did not want to pay high price off ebay .

I see those dragon Hueys  models over 100 dollars

That was my alternative for my  Huey build
