Question about the new Academy MH-60S
Posted by knox on Saturday, April 4, 2015 9:11 AM

I was wondering if a decent kit could be made oob.  I read HeavyArty's review of an upgrade set from Cobra company, but im not sure my skills would warrant the extra expense.  Thanks.          knox

I hope the review was helpful.  The Cobra Company set adds the cabin door guns that some MH-60S helos carry.  Not all have them though.  It also adds some missed interior details.  You can make a pretty descent kit OOB though.

A couple notes. Do not mount the M134 miniguns in the door gunner windows since they are not authorized for use on the MH-60S. Also, the .50 cal cabin door guns and mounts in the kit are not the correct type either.  The rest of the kit is pretty acceptable out of the box.

Wow.  Thanks for the quick response and the information.  I know nothing about helicopters, but have developed an unhealthy interest in them. ( partially your fault for posting wip threads :] )  I have checked out other reviews you have done and think they are very good.   I hope you dont mind if I ask other question from time to time.   Thanks again,         knox

No problem.  Thanks for the compliments. Glad I have been of help and inspiration.  Ask anything whenever it comes to mind.

For a little more inspiration, here is an MH-60S with no weapons at all and with cargo seats in the rear.

Or an interesting Search and Rescue version w/o weapons.
