Nice work! Thanks for sharing what you found. Nice tribute to the 160th SOAR and the guys of Delta Force. As a Vietnam Vet it is heart wrenching to watch the movie "Black Hawk Down". Once you have experienced the nightmare of intense combat you are changed forever. May you be blessed to be among the majority to never endure the hardships of war.

Clear Left!

Too late, I was in 3ID for the invasion of Iraq. I do know what you mean.

Great diorama. One thing though...if it's supposed to be Durant's bird, a couple things are off. Super 61 lost not only it's tail rotor, but the majority of it's vertical tail. Also, from what I remember the 160th SOAR aircrews had M-4's and MP5K's for self-protection. Definately not MP5SD's.
Now I think it's a GREAT diorama, but if the intent is to mimic or represent a real world event, I am of the thinking that one has to take into consideration the actual event and the specifics. I also think (know) that there would be quite a bit more damage to the aircraft.
Now everyone relax...I still think its a good diorama...there's just a few things that could be better.

Avus,
Yeah, I've considered the same diorama but will probably limit it to 1/48 scale. I too would hate to trash a $50+ model.

Melgyver,
Amen brother. Between the time I spent in Somalia, Afgahnistan and the sandbox, I can tell you that the time spent in Somalia really had a big impact on me. It's something that really cant be conveyed through a post on a forum. I will say that while I enjoyed the movie, it conjurs up strong memories of my experience over there.
