I had built this a few years ago, but barely unboxed it after moving 2 times in a year. sheesh.
Couple of Detail shots
It still pains me to this day that you cant see in the back where Dom sits
Nice! That was a great show as well.
Now this post brings back some memories. I LOVED that show when it was on the air...how many years ago? And even more so that I remember building an Airwolf kit back in the 80s but I don't remember who manufactured it. Nice job on the model and especially the interior.
Thanks for the compliments guys.
@AnalogKid, the one from the 80s was AMT, I remember I built 2 of those, because the first one I left in the back seat of my mom's car and it melted, haha.
but the quality of the AMT compared to the Aoshima is night and day, if you want to build one go for the Aoshima
Yeah, the AMT kit got me there as a kid, but I wouldn't want to tackle it now. I meant to ask, what color did you use for the topside color?
Awesomely cool!!! My favorite TV back when I had hair too! I had one of the old AMT kits as well and went out and bought the Aoshima kit when it came out. Still haven't built the kit yet, guess I'm afraid too that I'll mess it up. It is a shame they put all the work into the back seat and you can't hardly see it with the kit finished.

Awesome work, especially on the interior. I too have built the AMT kit decades ago. That and the MPC KITT made up my TV sci fi collection.
No bucks, no Buck Rogers
The topside color is a dark metallic charcoal.
I cant remember what brand, but I know its an automotive wheel paint that I used to restore some Pontiac Rally II wheels
you can see it a little better in these pictures:
I used pictures of the real one online as reference, there was a website that I had bookmarked, but cant find it
Cool, I remember the AMT instructions listing a metallic charcoal as the correct colour though on TV she always just looked a glossy black to me.
I did think about trying to light my model, I guess that's another reason I haven't actually built the thing yet.
BTW: There is a partial replica in 1:1 at an aviation museum at Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. According to the sign the guy finished most of the exterior on the Bell 222 base chopper and then didn't get to the interior. Still my jaw dropped open on walking into the hanger and seeing her sitting there!
We went to that museum a few years ago. Cool place! I missed seeing the Hun Hunter flying by about 10 min :(
Here's a pic I took of Airwolf and it is met gray.
Beautiful build!! Where do you find that kit??
Im not sure if the rear computers would be more visible with light, since there is a wall behind Hawk which blocks alot of the view.

It is. If you read the post above it, it says...
