MH-47E
Posted by Trigger on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 8:35 PM
I saw that 1/72 Italeri MH-47E kit my hobby shop today and lately I've been on a "Nightstalkers" kick (MH-60L, MH-6) and I was curious about it. The FSM review of the kit was positive, but is the kit accurate? I thought I read a post saying that the kit was based on a painting?

I just got thru reading about this bird over at globalsecurity.org and it sounds as tough and mean as it looks. And I didn't know Chinooks could "swim"! (http://popularmechanics.com:80/popmech/movie2/47ECHO.mov)

Trigger.....

The forward & aft pylon's are a bit too short in scale, incorrect rotors, and the overhead transparencies aren't shaped correctly ... other than that Whistling [:-^], it's an acceptable duplication. Reference the photo link below:

And yes, the Chinook's are "swimmers", designed to do so even with the Ramp down.

Take care,
Frank
