Thats what the S stands for.  Great ship to fly as I had 6 available to me in Germany in 1970 as a Cat B aviator platform.  I commanded a tank company but still had to fly X hours a month, hence Category B.  We jsut flew arond looking for castles and gasthous's.  Great fun.

Thanks. The tubing was quite thick out of the box. It took a lot of shaving down useing the back edge of a zacto knife to thin them down. Still too thick for scale. Gary S.

Hello!

That looks very nice. That tube frame sure looks a lot better in 1:48 than in 1:72 :-( Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

Made the tail rotor bearing cap from a Japanese bomb fuse. Sill needs painting. Added some detail to the hub also. Gary

Decided to detail the tail rotor by drilling out the hub and using a rod for the shaft. On the kit the tail rotor shaft glued into a retainer that was suppose to be the gear box an to spin with the tail rotor. It's not supposed to do that so I glued it to the proper place and inserted a small metal tube to receive the shaft. A smaller part will be used for the tail rotor on the back side of the gear box for the control cables. the hub will be further detailed with bearing cap and pitch change links. Gary

F Finished main flight controls. Added more detail underneath for tail rotor and sync elevator control cables. Installed fuel tanks with plumbing. Not going to add any more though, it's a plumber's nightmare. Seat also painted and installed. Gary

Thanks!! The exhaust was first painted flat black and bry brushed with white oils. Then small amounts of chalk pastels were ground down on sand paper and applied with a small brush. White chalk was then use for the inside. Gary

Very cool, I love your exhausts :-)

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a 1/35 or 1/48   47G as a mate has the full size in his hanger they restored to the '60 Bat Copter but I can only get the 1/72 :-(

It is actually surprizing how big a 47 really is, we are all so use to Robbies and such LOL

Thanks, while finding pics of OH-13's used at Nui Dat with the 161st Recce there was a Cobra with I think is in Aussie markings.
Gary

Nice OH-13 you got going there, Gary.  I think the roo was just an Aussie zap.  Here's a 334th Cobra with my dad at Bien Hoa and you can see the roo here as well.  The 334th also supported Aussie units so perhaps that is also the case with this bird.

Probably a little late to be helpful, but I took these H-13 photos at the US Helicopter Museum in West Chester, PA. I'm not sure of the version, but I hope they prove to be helpful:

I was initially worried that I would have some modifications to do. I since have discovered that the Aussie B47G-3 and the US Army OH-13S are both the supercharged models. Yea!!  Gary

Hello!

That frame was even greater problem in Italeri's 1:72 version of this chopper! Looks like you're off to a great start - good luck with your build and have a nice day

This is Italeri's 1/48th scale OH-13S. The tailboom is molded a little thick and I was going to build a new one from metal rod. Too many bends and having to transfer mounting points. I decided to thin the plastic down with the back of a zacto blade. So far it's seem to work ok. Gary
