Good day guys,
here's my first Helo - the AH1S Cobra from Hobby Boss.
This is my second kit so far.
The model kit was worth the price (about $11.00). It comes in three spruces and they fit well together. As usual, everything is hand painted as I do not have an airbrush. I used Tamiya acrylics, Tamiya panel line accent, floor wax and gundam markers. (The markers are so useful in small parts)
As with most Helos, this was a tail sitter, so I had to put weights.
I use an electric nail file to make sanding easier
Instead of using alligator clips with sticks, I simply use these clips.
Looks ugly with the first layer of paint. I had to continously thin the paint and stir it to be consistent. Hand painting looks tedious, but this is the part that I enjoy.
After about 3 thin layers of paint, a lot of patience and 3 layers of floor wax, and more patience, here she is.
Placing the decals, panel lining, light weathering and a final top coat, here's my work:
I'm open for suggestions or comments from you guys beacuse this is my second try at this hobby.
I know I can improve better on my decals, and my painting scheme is also wrong for the Israeli Air force, I have to do better research in the future.
Hoping to hear from you guys,
Best Regards,
Victor Carlos
