Gamera

Oh wow awesome!!!!! Great job you did on her!

I've seen the kit around and wondered about the quality, if I may ask how was the fit etc, did you do much work fixing or cleaning up any issues?

Thankyou. It's an OLD Airfix kit, this should give you a good idea :)

To be fair, i've seen, had and built much much worse from Airfix, Revell, AMT and MPC, there was heaps of cleanup of flash, some sink marks to fill and a considerable amount of wiggling, clamping and holding bits in place to get things to fit as it should.
The pod on the front was a challenge in itself, it's in two halves and leaves a very noticeable seam line, so it has to be assembled, cleaned, filled and sanded prior to painting and fitting, this in rurn creates another problem with the front oleo which is moulded to the frame as the pod clamps around it, you either need to enlarge the hole and have lots of patience to fit as I did or cut off the oleo and glue it in the hole after, (I chose not to because I didn't want to create a weak point on a weight bearing area of the wheel).
It is a challenge to build but I think looks nice once completed and worth it, you often see the kits on ebay but i'd personally say don't pay more than £20 for one unless you really really want one, in which case i'd maybe go to £30

Completed the old 1/24 Airfix Little Nellie Wallis Autogyro.
Placed in Helicopters though technically it's neither plane nor helicopter.
