Thanks for the help! I’ve already got some of the MM medium green on the shelf somewhere, so I’ll probably use that and lighten it is few shades to give it the sun faded look of YN-19,

Marine Helos used Field Green 34097 or 14097 (depending upon the markings, high viz-gloss, or low viz-flat) in between the overall Sea Blue years and the three color temperate land scheme years. Humbrol, Testors, and Gunze all make the 34097 color.

Testors Model Master Medium Green (FS34102) is a great match for Marine Green used on USMC helos at that time.

H-34D Paint Color
Posted by B-29 on Monday, January 22, 2018 8:20 AM

Hello all,

I am modeling an H-34D and I noticed that generally, instructions recommend Olive Drab or a variant for the airframe base color. The helicopter I am modeling,YN-19: http://www.usmcmuseum.com/sikorsky-uh-34d.html, is a much lighter shade of green, and I have tried several times unsuccessfully to find a matching paint color. Does anyone know of an off the shelf color that would match? Any advice is appreciated.
