I haven't built one yet but wanted to stop in and say thanks too! I think it's great that you've started a seperate section for helicopters. Very cool!

David,
Let me join the chorus in thanks to you and FSM for putting the 'ulitimate aircraft' into a category all it's own. As you've probably noted, there is a lot of expertise amoung the helicopter modelers with several authors and many current or former crew members logging in on a regular basis. I wish I had this kind of resource when I was a kid working on my first helicopter model. This amount of knowledge and help available to each other is practically endless. As you know, we modelers love to help each other out and this forum will make that a lot easier.
Sincerely,
Paul Pickett

You have to give yourselves some credit too. A couple of you took the time to bring this to our attention. Feedback like this lets us know what areas of the site we need to focus on and what we can improve upon.

After reading your requests, we took a look and realized that there were a good number of discussions regarding helicopters. After some discussion it also made sense to split them up - Rotary Wing vs Fixed Wing. They really are different subjects. However, we opted to name the forums as simply Aircraft and Helicopters. The reason for this was that more people probably understand the term "Helicopters" as opposed to "Rotary Wing".

So to all of you, thank you. Thank you for your participation, your patience while we reviewed our options, and most importantly your friendly and helpful attitudes towards each other in your discussions.

By the way, if you come across any helicopter topics back in the Aircraft forum, just send me a message and I'll move them over.
