Update.

The Army Transportation Museum in Ft. Eustis, Virginia, was nice enough to send me copies of several pages from TM 55-1520-202-10 which show the solid backs for both 12 and 18 troop seating arrangements.

Pictures from a TM are proof enough for me.

Thanks for all the replies, and special thanks to the Army Transportation Museum.

I believe they have a VIP Marine One version and those are the seats for it.

I went to school on the H-34 in 66.  All I saw was webbed backs.

If it is gonna be a general use type, go with the webbed seat back. If it is gonna be a VIP transport type, go with the solid backs.

I'm thinking webbed. I wold do a Bing image search for Vietnam era H34 troop cabins or something like that. I say Bing because I hate Google lol.

Gallery 1/48 Army H-34 seat back choice question
Posted by BenHet on Saturday, August 3, 2019 7:20 AM

Gallery's 1/48 CH-34 Army rescue kit includes a choice between passenger seats with webbed backs or solid backs...

Which would be most correct for an Army CH-34, about the mid 1960's?

Are there any good interior photos of Army  -34's around this time frame?

So little info out there on the Army '34's. Yes, I have both Lundh's books on it, and have spent hours on the 'net.

Any help gratefully appreciated.
