Brand new kit.  20 bucks.   It says only 1 in stock, so better jump on it if you want it.  Hope this helps!

Zac,

Shapeways wouldn't be the way to go.  Your best bet would most likely be trying to score a cheap kit off eBay. You might try Heller to see if they have any old kits lying around, but according to Scalemates the last time this kit was released was in 2000.

Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.

Thanks for the idea! All of the clear parts are missing, I’m not sure if Shapeways offers an option for me to replace those?

Sadly I also do NOT have any parts. Usually, Heller should be able to send missing parts, unless it is a kit that old that they don't have any of them anymore in stock.

I can imagine, that there are Heller Model kit forums online.

In the worst case, you could talk to some of the people who sell their 3D prints on Shapeways. A good many of them might be willing to design the missing parts, which would allow you to purchase 3D prints of those parts from Shapeways. These designing guys need photos of the real helicopter and also photos of the instruction manual that came with the kit, and your estimated size of those missing parts.

Zac:

I can't help with the parts, But I just love your Avatar. I was gonna use My Ferret but couldn't catch her for photos. Now concerning the parts. Can you carve wood?-Like Basswood? If so carve the missing parts out of little blocks. Once you've achieved the right contour and fit ( Just a wee smaller than the actual part.) Polish the surface and glaze it with Clear Acrylic.

Take some sheet plastic and stick the blocks to a cookie sheet. Take the largest piece and carefully lay it on the Form, Holding it in an out of the way corner. Then use the Hot setting on a hair dryer until the part is shaped over the form. As it forms, let it go. It will sag over the form.

Do this with all those parts. Cut to fit and install. That's cheaper than a whole kit and will give you the satisfaction of fixing it yourself. Plus, You will have learned a new skill!

This may be a super long shot but, given Heller can’t help, I thought I’d hit up my regular hang-outs!

A friend sent me a Heller 1/50 JetRanger I’m dying to build but a few vital parts are missing: 37, 39, 40, 41 and 42.

If you can help at all - and are happy to donate any of these parts or accept an IOU as I’m not in a position to pay any time soon - please get in touch!
