Old Hooker ?
Posted by Papa-Echo-64 on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 8:35 PM

Hello all,

It's been almost 10 years since I have visited and was wondering if anyone knows if Old Hooker is still around ? The last post that I can see was back in 2010.  We use to go back and forth a lot and I know his health was not very well then.

Any information would be much appreciated.

Happy modeling.

Troy.

Fly fast, fly low, turn left. Yes please pass along any info.

I'm really glad that you brought him up. That was a period here where there were a lot of vets who had good first hand knowledge of Viet Nam era operations.

I miss Rex (Tarnship), Squeekie (sp?), HansVHammer (his dad and three uncles), Dirtbag.

Lol I can just imagine

Hooks were a nic name for Chinook's and Frank aka Old Hooker was a crew chief with the group of heavily armed ch-47s called Guns a go go.

Yes Frank was a huge source of useful information regarding those birds.

Interesting! Thanks for the info, PE64 and Bill.

I think I got here just a little too late to be able to enjoy the input of many of these great past FSM members.
