Thanks Stik. That is exactly what I need.
GMorrison Reading through Lundh "H-34 An Illustrated History", the V leg came in at about airframe number 148###. There were D's with either/ or. So I suppose if you know the aircraft you are modeling, that would help.

Thanks Bill. Yup, the one I plan on modeling is YN19, airframe 150570, so it has the V leg struts. It is the one on display at the USMC Museum at Quantico.
It has a long history of service and was saved from the chopping block as well. You can read its story here: https://www.freedomsflyingmemorial.org/AircraftHistory.htm
I have the Revell 1/48 UH-34D kit. The lower strut measurements are as follows:
A:26mm, not counting attachment stubs or wheel axle
B:26mm, not counting attachment stubs or wheel axle
C:15mm, inner edge to inner edge
D:40.5mm
Hello Gino,
Here's an update.
My kits are a HobbyBoss UH-34A and a Italeri UH-34D. Both have the bent leg single lower strut.
Bill
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Thanks. If the books/drawings have measurements, then yes. I could probably translate the measurements from 1/72 if I had to as well.
I only have a couple of the Italeri 1/72 UH-34s. I also have a couple of books that might have drawings.
Would that be of any help?
I am planning on converting the 1/32 Fly Model Wessex to a USMC UH-34D. The Wessex landing gear is different, basically a J model, single horizontal strut on each side that goes into the side of the fuselage. The D model used wishbone-style horizontal struts that mounted under the fuselage.
What I need is the measurements of the wishbone strut in either the Italeri, Revell, or Gallery Models 1/48 UH-34D kits.
Below is from the Gallery Model kit and shows what I am talking about. I have circled the wishbone horizontal strut. I have also labeled the measurements I need: A - one side horizontal strut, B - other side horizontal strut, C - horizontal cross brace, and D - vertical strut. Any help will be appreciated and thanks in advance.
